Andiamo Systems is a fun, early-stage company that provides an SaaS
application to mid-size businesses to measure social media, consumer opinion and campaign impact across the exploding universe of user generated media including MySpace, YouTube, Twitter, and the millions of social networks, blogs, message boards, forums and mainstream media websites.
We are looking for a talented & experienced software engineer with experience in Java/Ruby/MySQL who can help lead the specification, design, & development of our application. This is a challenging opportunity and you’ll have a big hand in the direction and evolution of the application.
Qualifications:
- • Substantial experience (7+ years) on highly scalable server side application code in a distributed Linux environment
- • Substantial experience working in entire software cycle for new application components from initial analysis and specification to production rollout.
- • Must be fluent in Java (including JDBC) and have a solid computer science background including ORM, network security, and computational complexity
- • Compiler, graph theory, linguistics, and/or NLP experience desired
- • HTML & XML parsing experience a plus
- • Experience with administration of source management & software installation for server applications
- • Must be an energetic "self-starter" with the ability to work independently and within a team with strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- • Must pay attention to detail and have a solid history of meeting deadlines
- • Sense of humor is essential
Responsibilities Include:
- • Owning the architecture of the system
- • Working with senior company staff to articulate and prioritize business requirements into a clear development plan.
- • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing numerous parts of the existing application
- • Work with product management to review functional specifications for completeness, usability and testability
- • Develop new features and maintain existing code using Java and Ruby
- • Continuously define and develop code to automate and increase accuracy of current manual analysis processes.
- • Manage the development of test cases using Ruby Test: Unit and/or JUnit
- • Create and maintain RPM spec files and build and deploy RPMs
- • Deploy software releases to QA, Staging and Production environments
- • Share information with other employees via the company Wiki, and present to the various teams and senior management.

Responsibilities:
• Working with product management to review functional specifications for completeness, usability and testability

Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in a real-time, for-profit, 24/7/365 environment
• Fluent in Ruby on Rails and/or OO Perl and MVC frameworks
• Thorough understanding of LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySql/PhP)
• Significant experience with Java (including work with JDBC)
• Strong software engineering background, especially software design and software engineering processes
• BS or MS in Computer Science (demonstrable formal training)
• Experience with complexity theory and QA methodologies
• Ability to internalize the business focus and use this to inform development efforts
• Is proficient in SQL, including experience with queries, normalized and denormalized design, stored procedures/triggers, and using SQL in scripting languages
• Is familiar with XML, Remote Procedure calls and SOAP
• Understands hosted applications including networking design and technologies (switches, routers, load balancers, etc)
• Has been responsible for source management, software installation, and environment control (dev, qa, prod) for server applications
• Must be an energetic "self-starter" with the ability to work independently and within a team with strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills

• Responsible for the entire sales process from prospecting to close.
• Outbound telephone prospecting and warm lead follow up.
• Present and articulate product features and benefits of our brand monitoring application
• Close sales and achieve quarterly sales quota.
• Understand customer needs and requirements and tailor pitch to be most compelling and relevant.
• Accurately maintain sales data in Salesforce.com CRM tool
• Coordinate and run online demos as needed

Requirements:
• BA/BS or equivalent degree
• A minimum of 5 years selling experience in BTB software/internet, ASP or advertising sales
• Ability to mange entire sales process from prospecting through close
• Experience in closing deals in the $3-5000 per annum range
• Proven track record in inside sales with the ability to meet and exceed sales targets and quarterly sales goals
• Ability to perform well in high activity, dynamic environment

• Responding promptly & thoroughly to support inquiries received via telephone, email and instant chat
• Being first point of contact for new trial users and general inquiries
• Providing online demonstrations of our product and answering product-related questions
• Independently resolving customer support issues and escalating issues where necessary
• Documenting system-wide problems and common questions posed by customers
• Providing valuable 'front lines' feedback to Product Development, Marketing & Engineering teams
• Cultivating and expanding the FAQ/Knowledge Base used by our customers
